UN-Lincoln awarded $15 million grant to study workforce problems facing child welfare agencies

Working for public child welfare agencies can be demanding and draining, and some employees don’t last long in the job.

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln research center will study ways to address the workforce problems facing those agencies.

The federal Department of Health and Human Services awarded a $15 million grant over five years to UNL’s Center on Children, Families and the Law. UNL made the announcement Tuesday.

Michelle Graef, the UNL research associate professor who will oversee the project, said analysis of this topic is essential.
