Police union president, addiction recovery CEO challenge incumbent in Las Vegas City Council race

Las Vegas City Councilwoman Nancy Brune is being challenged in the race to represent Ward 6 by a police union president and the founder of substance abuse treatment center.

Ward 6 comprises the furthest northwestern section of the city, and includes rapidly growing master-planned communities like Skye Canyon and Sunstone. It’s also home to the city’s largest regional park, Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs

The candidates — Brune, Steve Grammas, and Dave Marlon— will face off in the June 9 primary for the chance to represent the ward. If any candidate receives more than 50% of the votes during the primary, they will win the seat outright.

But if nobody reaches a majority, the top two contenders will move forward and appear on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
