New Hampshire to join voter-list crosscheck program

CONCORD — New Hampshire will soon be comparing its voter checklists with registration rolls in 29 other states, in the hope of avoiding duplicate registrations that lead to duplicate voting.

The Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck Program, which started in Kansas, has been steadily enlisting other states since 2006, when four Midwestern states began to share voter data.

Proponents of the checklist say it’s an important tool in preventing voter fraud, and will become more effective as more states join. Critics say the process is flawed and results in many false duplicates, mostly involving minority and younger voters.

New Hampshire lawmakers passed a bill earlier this year that authorizes the secretary of state to participate. His office is now compiling data from the November election for submission to the database.

There is a Susan Helene Poindexter registered in Texas, and a Susan H. Poindexter registered in Minnesota. In itself, that means nothing. The critical thing is what the secretaries of state in both places do with that information. Of course, we know what they do if they're Republicans. We need federal legislation to protect the rights of voters against corrupt state election officials.

In the US with the same name. Maybe they should clamp down on the Republicans who own more than one home and register both as a different residence and register to vote in all locations. I would venturevto say the voters dumped will be registered as Democrats or likely Democratic voters.

I would assume that is what they will be searching for duplicates.

5. I would not like for the SSN to be added to voter registration. We live in different states

but just the fact of having a duplicate name should not subject purging from the registration. In Florida a few years back if the voter did not have a vehicle or utility bill in their name then they were purged. One lady was purged for this reason and the vehicles and utilities was in her husband's name.
