We needed a win on the local level and we got it, in "recent historic" fashion!

(1,097 posts)So, I'll stick to my opinion and will look for steady patterns. Hoping the winning keeps rolling in.
Looks like this is turning into another DU user disagreement so hopefully we can just agree to disagree on what constitutes a "pattern" and this is my last response on this topic. More things to read and do than go back and forth about what boils down to a matter of opinion.

(24,956 posts)They ran a slate of candidates all aligned with one another.
Since local off elections tend to draw fewer people, running a slate assured they would get a bunch of people to show up and vote for all of them

(2,573 posts)The good guy won, we are so happy about this. NH has been turning blue; all four of our US Congress reps are Democrats (and women too). But we have Sununu as Governor, hope he gets voted out in the next election.

(9,426 posts)Maybe people are finally waking up? The BS being flung by tRump and his cohorts is getting old. For these clowns to vote for a bill, when they have no idea what is in it, well, that takes the cake. McConnell sounds DESPERATE, what is in this for HIM?? Sorry, CONGRATULATIONS to Cavanaugh. Sane people are waking up at last.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
