Governor opposed Obamacare, but accepted it for practical reason

Gov. Susana Martinez opposed President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, saying government should not order people of means to buy health insurance.

But Martinez, a career prosecutor until her election as governor in 2010, decided for one reason not to fight Obamacare.

“It’s the law of the land,” she said in a recent interview.

Martinez, a Republican, said her position solidified after the U.S. Supreme Court decided last year to let stand the federal law to provide health insurance for every citizen.

Was she not listening to Ronald Reagan when he said there is no free lunch or noticing he ordered hospitals to take care of those without insurance and this results in the rest of us paying for them with higher medical costs and higher premiums?
Reminds me of the dad whose daughter tells him she just moved in a very unsafe neighborhood and she needs her burly boyfriend to stay with her for protection. All of us can see where that is going and much as we dislike it, we most likely have little choice in the matter. Much like those freedom loving 20 somethings who think it unfair we force them to buy health insurance. Why do we not just let them rack up bills for us to pay with our tax dollars?
