By Dan Hirschhorn
Bill Thompson is racking up support from prominent Latino leaders for his New York City mayoral bid.
State Sen. Adriano Espaillat, an influential upper Manhattan Democrat who chairs the Senate Latino Caucus, endorsed Mr. Thompson on Monday morning, praising him as a champion for the working class who can unite the city.

Mr. Espaillat was joined by City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, State Assemblywoman Gabriela Rosa and Democratic activist Maria Luna in backing Mr. Thompson, the former city comptroller.
