Fourth Grader Arrested For Bringing Unloaded Handgun To S.I. School

NY1News

A 10-year old Staten Island boy was arrested for bringing an unloaded handgun to school last week.

The Department of Education says the fourth grader brought the weapon to P.S. 373 on Friday.

Officials say he showed it to two students before it was identified by faculty, who called police.
The boy is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

"This young man menaced some of his schoolmates on the 12th [of July] and he was arrested by NYPD personnel. The gun was unloaded. It was a .45 caliber and it was defaced," said NYPD Chief of Detectives Phil Pulaski.

If the serial numbers were removed, that was done to avoid tracing. Clearly the gun came from a criminal source. The kid did the cops a favor.

4. Serial #s removed? Now that will make it harder to return to the "responsible gun owner"!
