Groups to GOP AG candidate John Cahill: Identify clients tied to energy industry

KEN LOVETT

The Sierra Club and Citizen Action of New York have started a petition campaign calling on Republican Attorney General candidate John Cahill to publicly release any connections his energy consulting firm has with oil and gas corporations.

Citizen Action President Ivette Alfonso said full disclosure is needed in the light that New York is discussing whether to allow a controversial gas drilling technique known as hydrofracking.

Citing a Daily News blog item from late April that showed Cahill and his firm represented four different clients before three state agencies since 2013 despite not being registered lobbyist, the Sierra Club and Citizen Action want to see if there other clients.
