Mayor de Blasio will endorse Gov. Cuomo’s running mate Kathy Hochul

Under attack by liberals, Gov. Cuomo’s running mate Kathy Hochul will receive a ringing endorsement Wednesday from the leader of the state’s progressive Democrats, Mayor de Blasio, the Daily News has learned.

De Blasio and Hochul are scheduled to stand side by side at a City Hall news conference, six days before she faces insurgent liberal candidate Tim Wu in the Democratic primary.

“There is no question that Kathy Hochul is the lieutenant governor that New York City needs,” de Blasio told The News.

He went on to praise Hochul for holding “true to our core Democratic values” and backing gay marriage and abortion rights while representing a Republican-heavy upstate district in Congress.
