CVS Caremark plans to stop selling tobacco products starting today was hailed by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who pressed other pharmacies to do the same.
In March, Schneiderman, a Democrat seeking re-election in the fall, was among 30 attorneys general in the country to press major pharmacies to stop selling tobacco products, Gannetts Denise Nickerson reports.

(11,150 posts)The idea was that liquor and tobacco weren't compatible with a pharmacy. They ended up pulling liquor out of most new stores at the time, but never got rid of cigarettes. Since then liquor has crept back in. Guess profit trumps health.

$14.50 a pack. Thats alot of money to lose. But I applaud CVS
