De Blasio, Mark-Viverito For Hochul

Former Rep. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday landed the endorsement of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio — getting the seal of approval from a prominent liberal official who has differed with Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“There is no question that Kathy Hochul is the Lieutenant Governor that New York City needs,” de Blasio said in a statement. “In one of the most Republican districts in New York, Kathy held true to our core Democratic values, including fighting against Paul Ryan’s Tea Party budget and for a woman’s right to choose and raising the minimum wage. As Lieutenant Governor, I know Kathy will continue her lifelong advocacy on behalf of women by leading the fight to pass the full Women’s Equality Act which will protect choice in New York, equal pay and prevent discrimination based on sex.”
