Diana Durand pleads guilty to making illegal contributions to GOP Rep. Michael Grimm's 2010 campaign

Wednesday pleaded guilty to using straw donors to illegally contribute more than $10,000 to the 2010 campaign of Rep. Michael Grimm (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn) and another House candidate running that year.

Addressing Judge Sterling Johnson in Brooklyn federal court, Ms. Durand read a statement in which she acknowledged that she "knowingly and willingly" either gave payment in advance or later reimbursements to two straw donors, and that those donors were "not the true source of the money that was used for the contributions."
