Clinton tours Harbor School, touting ‘Billion Oyster Project’

David Giambusso

Former president Bill Clinton visited the New York Harbor School on Governors Island Thursday, touting the school's involvement in his plan to repopulate New York Harbor with oysters.

"If could interrupt, I just wanted to introduce the 42nd President of the United States," Pete Malinowski, a school administrator said as a class pored over a marine biology syllabus with teachers on the first day of school.

Clinton toured the school, touting the Clinton Global Initiative's involvement in the school's Billion Oyster Project, a 20-year undertaking focused on getting oysters that eat algae and act as natural filters for pollution back into the harbor.
