Wu crashes a Hochul stop on the Upper West Side

Tim Wu made a surprise appearance at a campaign stop for his opponent, Kathy Hochul, on Friday evening outside a subway entrance at 96th Street.

The two shook hands.

"This is America, this is a great place to campaign," said Hochul, who has ignored invitations to debate Wu, shortly after he arrived. "I'd be here, too, we all should be here."

Wu said, "I asked, 'So, are we gonna do a debate?' And she said, 'No.'"

1. He should have followed up w. the obvious: "Why not?"

to which she could have replied.... in my *dreams* but with absolute honesty: "Because you will KICK MY ASS."

But if she were honest.... Cuomo wouldn't have picked her.

The pic, BTW, is an embarrassment: prominent and nominally "progressive" Manhattan DEM electeds who didn't have the chops to do what we had to turn to academe ( Wu and Teachout) to do:

i.e. challenge a corrupt and reactionary state party apparatus.
