Capital State Senate election tracker: Primary Day 2014

By Brendan Cheney and Josefa Velasquez

Welcome to Capital's State Senate election tracker. This is a special primary election day edition. Below you’ll find an interactive map with all 63 Senate districts and relevant information for each race, including the candidates, their campaign contribution totals as well as the outcome of the previous election and the party enrollment in the district.

For the races with primary elections, we’ve update the campaign contribution totals to include the 11-day pre-primary filing.

In addition to the map, we’ve added a Senate outcome calculator. Further down the page, you’ll find an embedded calculator tool, where you can make your own predictions in the close senate races and see how that affects control of the Senate. You can also follow the link to a full version of the calculator, where you can change the outcome of any and all of the Senate races.

You can find a larger map on a separate page by following the link at the end of the article. There is also a longer explanation of what the map contains later in the article.
