Teachout would be even higher w/o Green Party-er Credico in the race.

Point: They could hold Status Cuomo below 60% in his own party's primary despite a 37 million dollar spending edge.

Not exactly a juggernaut ya got there, Quid.

to do the same that were contemplating voting Green. I posted this in another thread...

"THE INCUMBENT Mr. Cuomo’s political team has not enjoyed the past few weeks. They are frustrated that Mr. Cuomo faces a spirited primary challenge, because he is an incumbent who is generally popular with voters, and they are even more frustrated with the amount of media attention that Ms. Teachout has received."

but a couple of paragraphs below...

"ODDS Ms. Teachout is just about the only person who has predicted that Ms. Teachout will win on Tuesday. While there has been no public polling of her matchup with Mr. Cuomo, her most obvious challenge is name recognition: A statewide poll conducted from Aug. 14 to 17 by Quinnipiac University found that 85 percent of Democratic voters had not heard enough about her to form an opinion."

She could have easily won.

>>>TURNOUT In 2010, when there was a hard-fought Democratic primary for state attorney general, 661,000 people voted – about 13 percent of registered Democrats. Jerry Skurnik, a political consultant, predicted a smaller turnout this year, probably 400,000 to 500,000 Democratic voters. “That’s pretty low,” he said.>>>>>

Well they've heard of her ( Teachout) NOW. And Wu as well. One of the good things to come of this is the idea of going outside the ranks of elected professional political hacks .... none of whom had the guts to challenge Cuomo themselves.... and turning to another field ( in this case academe) for governmental talent.

These NYS DEMs are so.... among other things.... MEDIOCRE. They are just ..... BLAH.

As for Teachout and Wu it will be interesting to see if they endorse Cuomo. I personally hope they don't. And stay neutral or endorse the Green candidates Howie Hawkins and Brian Jones.

The Greenies are going to do really well this November. That could be the real "take away" from what we've seen tonite.

Further more, it says a lot about WNY Democrats.

Additionally, despite efforts in our district, voter turnout was abysmal at best. We had 47 registered Democrats turn out to vote yesterday.

47!

Come on. We MUST do better than this!

Sigh.

Thanks everyone!

Prepare for fracking in NY. More handouts to big business.
