City Hall rally promotes People’s Climate March

There was little doubt the City Council would pass a resolution Wednesday endorsing the People's Climate March.

Still, dozens of elected leaders and climate activists gathered on the steps of City Hall to promote the march, which is expected to draw tens of thousands to New York City two days before a United Nations climate summit later this month.

"The days when climate change was thought of as a sort of side issue? Those days are over," said May Boeve, co-founder and executive director of 350.org, an environmental group. "The people are united calling for action."
