Dems call on GOP Rep. Michael Grimm to return illegal donations from Diana Durand

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Staten Island Democrats on Wednesday called upon Rep. Michael Grimm (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn) to return illegal campaign contributions he received from Texan Diana Durand.

Ms. Durand pleaded guilty in Brooklyn federal court his month to using straw donors to illegally give more than $10,000 to Grimm's 2010 campaign.

The FBI case against Ms. Durand, who has been described as an ex-girlfriend of the congressman's, alleged no wrongdoing on Grimm's part.
