Poll: New York voters support Cuomo’s ban on fracking

Scott Waldman

ALBANY—New Yorkers overwhelmingly support Governor Andrew Cuomo's decision last week to ban fracking in the state, a Quinnipiac University poll released today found.

Among those questioned, 55 percent said they approved of ban, compared to 25 percent who did not. Republicans approved 42 percent to 40 percent, while Democrats supported it by a 67 percent to 11 percent margin, the poll found.
