Some GOPers want SAFE Act changes tied to rent control extension

New Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan, who replaced Skelos last week, has assured upstate members he will push for changes to Gov. Cuomo’s controversial 2013 SAFE Act gun control law.

Assemblyman Bill Nojay (R-Livingston County) said one way for Flanagan--who voted for the gun control measure--to prove he is serious is to refuse to pass any extension of the rent regulation laws without agreement on “meaningful” SAFE Act changes.
