NYC Irish Organizations Applaud Legalization Of Gay Marriage In Ireland

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Gay rights advocates in New York City are cheering after Ireland’s citizens voted in a landslide to legalize gay marriage.

Emmaia Gelman with the group Irish Queers told WCBS 880’s Jim Smith the local community in New York is over the moon.

This year the door was cracked open a bit when a NBC gay employees group was allowed in, banner and all. Of course there was shock and outrage amongst the "righteous", at least one commenting in the NY Times that they'd boycott the parade. There were big crowds anyway so those folks weren't missed. Cardinal Dolan was the Grand Marshal and he still showed up. In this link, the NBC group is at 2:14:
