Cuomo, city at odds over funding for NYCHA

Brendan Cheney

Governor Andrew Cuomo is battling with Mayor Bill de Blasio and other city officials over how to allocate $100 million in state funding for the New York City Housing Authority.

This year's state budget included $100 million for repairs at NYCHA buildings but city officials are worried Cuomo will not earmark the money for roof repair and replacement, as NYCHA had requested, a move Councilman Mark Levine on Thursday called a "shameless act."

The mayor, Council and many residents argue roof repairs are of highest priority because leaky roofs lead to mold, mildew, asthma and a host of other conditions.

as long as he stays 2 or 3 states away from the WH at all times. They have to nominate some one and he's not quite as insane as some of their other options.

But I agree, I don't see him beating any democratic candidate.
