Arrest warrant for Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio issued
The judge overseeing the drunken driving case of Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio issued a bench warrant for her arrest on Tuesday when she failed to appear for a court hearing.
Judge Stephen Aronson also filed a declaration of delinquency against Astacio for neglecting to submit to a urine test he had previously requested.
The declaration acts as a violation of a condition of her drunken driving sentence requiring her to submit to any court-directed tests for alcohol consumption. That violation will be adjudicated at a later date.
It was understood before Tuesday's hearing that Astacio would not appear in court. Her lawyer, Ed Fiandach, explained to reporters prior to the hearing, and reiterated in court, that Astacio was in Thailand.
