It's a little creepy: D'Amato ( yes, *D'Amato*) Gets Mixed-up In NYC DEM Mayoral Fight

He keeps coming back. Like a bad dream.

>>Christine Quinn’s Campaign Blasts Bill Thompson Over Al D’Amato
By Colin Campbell 5/16 1:32pm

In what may be the most direct and harsh attack to emerge from her campaign so far, Council Speaker Christine Quinn took her Democratic rival Bill Thompson to task today for his cross-partisan support from former Senator Al D’Amato.

“Al D’Amato isn’t just anti-woman,” an email from Ms. Quinn’s campaign declared to supporters, “he is anti-choice, anti-Medicare, and anti-civil rights. He also had the dubious honor of being known as the most investigated Senator in New York history.”

Earlier this morning, the New York Times profiled Mr. D’Amato’s extensive fund-raising efforts for Mr. Thompson. In the piece, Mr. D’Amato slammed Ms. Quinn as “a political boss in the worst sense.” Earlier this week, Mr. D’Amato also mocked Ms. Quinn for revealing she had suffered from bulimia and alcoholism.

Reacting to this, the Quinn campaign declared that Mr. D’Amato, a Republican who lost to now-Senator Chuck Schumer in 1998, would gain a “toehold in City Hall” if his candidate won.>>> http://politicker.com/2013/05/christine-quinns-campaign-blasts-bill-thompson-over-al-damato/

Why any DEM primary candidate would WANT his endorsement is beyond me. But...... there it is.

Unfortunately, now living in Foriduha. I would vote for Quinn over Weiner, but if choice was Weiner or some jackass Republican, or a Bloomie clone, I would go with Weiner.

Who remembers the scandalous Sex and The City episode, purported to be based on good ole Al? There was a rumor he tried to get the episode spiked....

Ahhh, Candace...methinks thou dost protest too much!

M.R.: You must have checked out some pretty gross stories, Michael!

Musto: On the new season of Sex and the City, the Sarah Jessica Parker character goes out with a politician who wants her to urinate on him. So naturally I called Candace Bushnell and said, "Is this based on Al D'Amato?" Because she went out with Al D'Amato.

Molloy: A lot of people were wondering about that.

Musto: Everyone was buzzing at the premiere that it was D'Amato. Candace went ballistic on me! She began yelling, "That's really cheap. I have nothing to do with the writing of the show. How dare you? Al is a really nice guy." As if water sports means you're a bad person.

Walls: As if!

Musto: I'm not the one who made the whole world my gynecologist. The show is based on her sex life!

The same story here, with the added comment ".... The guy has nothing to do with Al. . . . Al's a great guy! He will sue you!"
