Related: About this forum1 train derailed at 122nd Street and Broadway
The train is full of people.
It appears two wheels of the train are off the track.
As a result, number 1 service is currently suspended between 168th Street & 96th Street.
It's not yet known what caused the train to derail.
The train is at least five cars long and is partially inside the tunnel.

(71,265 posts)2. The one train was just about to go underground and it happened.
They sent a rescue train to get the people out.
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)3. Was anyone hurt?
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)4. No reporst of it yet but it looks like 2 wheels slipped of the track so the trains did not leave the
track. Any injuries should be minor. This is the 3rd derailment in the Metro are in the past few days.

(14,498 posts)7. Probably just the #1.
And maybe the A... which I think runs on a separate express track, but might still be effected.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)8. Just the 1 train. The A runs on a different set of tracks.

The train never left the track, just 2 wheels.
