an hour south and west. NC has so many gems of places. We're just happy to be out of hot crowded Raleigh!

Try to go someplace every weekend. Banner elk is about 45 minutes from us and we visited there a couple weeks ago. Grandfather mountain last week. And today we went to Linville falls. We have so many cool places here in WNC. I think tomorrow we may go up on Mount Mitchell

Boone and Banner Elk area, in the foothills. My husband's spent more time up there than I have; he was born and grew up here in NC and I was born here but grew up in Fla and moved here as an adult. Several of his friends went to App State
