(53,475 posts)... was recommended by my son and daughter-in-law. They got me in fast, provided a cheap diagnosis for my problem and fixed it on the spot.
So there's one. Good luck.

Nice people, reasonable prices. ( if you go, tell them the person with the funny car smell improver sent you - they liked it so much they took a pic of it!)

i love DU! don't you?

(22,920 posts)that I keep forgetting about the various groups here. I've been on DU for AGES and still haven't explored the various groups and gatherings beyond the main areas.
I haven't been a huge fan of living in NC, since I'm a Yankee at heart (and, unfortunately, am in a very red area south of Raleigh and have had a lot of run-ins with Palin for President peeps).
However, I just returned from a trek to the MD/DC area and, I must say, I was soooooooo grateful to be back here.
I don't have many recommendations, but I've always been tremendously grateful to know of Phil Campbell, who was recommended to me years ago by a NC native. Being able to count on a good, honest mechanic is invaluable.
I eventually would like to have people post similar recommendations for their areas at Wishadoo and use it as a free Angie's List of sorts...lol. I figure DUers are going to only recommend businesses of integrity, so it fits.
Again, good luck to you!

(28,787 posts)Wake Forest is pretty far for me. i've bookmarked the thread so i'll have all this information. the best way to find a good mechanic is word of mouth.
