They Canceled Class Today — All The Teachers Got Arrested While Protesting For Voting Rights

North Carolina seems to have hit a time warp. Protests in the name of voting rights have cropped up around the state, and over 50 nonviolent protesters have been arrested. Skip to 1:58 for an explanation of why voting rights are suddenly under fire, and go to 4:35 for the most damaging element of voter suppression. Watch a professor completely laugh off being arrested at 6:16, and ask yourself if you're willing to go through something like that in the name of democracy. Apparently, it's not that bad.

That's what I would call walking the walk as a teacher. His students will remember this well and will probably learn what it means to fight for human rights America.

I'm liking this Rev. Barber. And the rest of them, too.

Not much about this except a piece in the college paper:

I'm not religious, but I like this guy. He's a political activist, reverend, head of NC NAACP, and civil rights activist. He doesn't mince words when sees injustice and immorality (REAL immorality such as extreme social injustice and trampling of civil rights for purposes of obtaining power and profit)
