some activists are singingwhat do you think, NC DUers? is this state sunk for the foreseeable future, or is there any reason to hope this crazy republican train can be derailed?

2. i wish i didn't agree with you.
and i'll do what i can to change that, but i think so too. they've got a stranglehold. can hardly wait to see what mcrory does with the sharia/abortion bill. maybe he'll display an iota of actual judgement and work for the best interests of the state. or maybe he was just lying when he said he wouldn't sign any more anti-abortion legislation.
when my present job wraps up i'm out of here. it might be years yet, no it will be years yet unless something drastic happens. i feel for the native and long-time permanent Carolinians. i imagine how i would feel if it was CA which i call home. i think this whole terrible time is worse for those who are rooted here. just to see what they're doing day in and day out to destroy a beautiful state. it is really sad. |

3. We plan to fight on...
I love this state. It is my chosen home, and I am happily married to a beautiful woman who was born & raised here. I am of course horrified by all that has happened this year under the ReThug tyranny, but I am not ready to cede this ground to the haters. On Monday, my wife & I will join the Tenth Wave of Moral Mondays, dressed in bright purple, and standing up for choice, voting rights, freedom of speech, and much more.
Don't give up on NC yet! -app |

4. i can't give up.
but my hopes are not high, and my outrage is threadbare. good on you both for going on Monday. i'll be out of town again working. i keep thinking i'll just ask my boss if she minds if i take off a monday to get arrested...she's a liberal and so am i, but i'm a coward too.

5. Yesterday's song
Django Haskins performed his "We Are Not For Sale" yesterday at Moral Monday. The crowd was totally into it.
This video is bad, but the sound is great. I hope he comes back. [link:| |

7. You're welcome
There's an article in this week's Indy about the song and future EP fundraiser. Also included is the sheet music on pdf.
