(346 posts)The rally starts about 5:00 and runs to about 6:30 - 6:45? The arrest "procession" starts about 6:10. After the speaking part of the rally, about 1/3 - 1/2 of the crowd goes over to Salisbury St (about a block and a half away) and waits until the arrested come out and get loaded on the jail transport buses. Lots of chanting and cheering on in support. Another hour or better here.

(346 posts)I can't help you. I've gone on a bus the last five weeks from Durham. Durham People's Alliance has a bus each week that carries at least 40 people there. Bonus: It runs on bio-diesel.

(19,841 posts)but didn't find any. Next week might be good if you missed Monday. It will be an extravaganza since it's the last one before the recess. The call is out for as many as possible--check the NAACP website over the weekend and there should be more particulars.
