Harris campaign sets up legal defense fund in NC's 9th District
Republican 9th Congressional District candidate Mark Harris has set up a legal defense fund, and the Republican Party is encouraging people to make donations to help him get the disputed 9th District seat.
“The campaign would appreciate anybody’s help in offsetting these legal expenses to achieve certification,” Harris campaign spokesman Jake Johnson said Friday.
“Any amount can help,” N.C. GOP Executive Director Dallas Woodhouse said in an email sent to Republicans on Thursday.
“After the votes were cast on November 6, Harris thought that the election was over,” he said. “But after the State Board of Elections refused to certify Mark’s election win in the Ninth Congressional District, he has had to fight on a front that he did not expect.”
