1. Choice between bad and worse

What they're saying is the oil is coming through, no matter what. If the pipeline is not built, they will send it by rail. So what they tell the citizens is, "If you don't let us build the pipeline, we will burn down your towns with exploding tank cars." And that's probably just what they will do. They are experts at putting the people between a rock and a hard place.

to avoid desecrating the burial ground, and seemed to have pushed ahead on going through the burial grounds while an injunction against further construction was in place.

And they may have consulted with the tribes...but is there any evidence that they actually changed anything in response to what the tribes said during the consultations?

as I only recently moved back here. However, I know some people in small towns are all excited about the jobs coming with the pipeline!!!
