snip-ZANESVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) — A Muskingum County pastor and former LifeWise teacher pleaded guilty to voyeurism and gross sexual imposition this week.

Christopher Riggs, a recent pastor at Washington Township Baptist Church, was arrested Wednesday on one count of gross sexual imposition and two counts of voyeurism. Court documents show Riggs’ misconduct was directed toward a minor teenager. Riggs pleaded guilty to both shortly after his arrest.

According to court documents, Riggs had forced sexual contact with a 14-year-old between June 1 and Sept. 23 of 2023, a fourth-degree felony. Riggs also pleaded guilty to voyeurism “for the purpose of sexually arousing or gratifying” himself during the same dates, a third-degree misdemeanor. Court documents said Riggs also committed sexual voyeurism from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30, 2025 with the same victim, now 17."

Just after several wiser school districts held board meetings to discuss the issue and subsequently passed policies to prohibit allow off-school religious release time during the school day. But holier than thou Ohio legislature couldn’t countenance that!

These same wiser school boards then passed policies prohibiting participating kids from returning to school after their religious release time with Lifewise branded promotional trinkets and candy, citing it as a form of indoctrination and a deceptive way to prey on and attract non-participating kids.

Ohio legislature passed a law that required schools to allow the practice.

Sending kids to an off-site private bible study class during school hours where they’re loaded up with toys and candies is a sex offender’s dream! Like the proverbial van that pulls up to a little girl playing outside with the creep driving it asking “Want some candy, little girl?”
