Way to go, Ohio!!!!
Today, the GENIUSES in the Ohio Senate passed HB 294, defunding Planned Parenthood ... vote 22 to 8. See, the great minds in the Ohio Legislature think that "other agencies" (you know, like FOOD BANKS) can provide health care to women.
The Guardian covered this legislation in November: Ohio abortion foes are taking aim at $1.3m Planned Parenthood uses to conduct STI and HIV tests, and infant mortality reduction programs to supplement the state’s troubled healthcare system.
A state with one of the WORST infant mortality rates in the nation is CUTTING FUNDING to programs designed to reduce infant mortality. ![]() The only hope is that our illustrious governor (who really, really thinks he will make an awesome-sauce president) will veto this moronic piece of legislation. I just love, love, love it when our state looks like total idiots to the rest of the nation. ![]() You can read the Guardian article here: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/nov/19/ohio-pro-life-senators-planned-parenthood-defund

1. Ugh, really?
That's disappointing. My birth state is moving bass ackward into the middle ages. WTF is wrong with people? Are they stupid? Who elects these people? Do they really want their daughters to be looking for abortion doctors on Craigslist? What next? Ugh!!

2. It's called the magic of gerrymandering
Combine carefully crafted legislative districts designed to make sure Republicans have a super majority in the legislature and pervasive mega-churches with their non-stop "right-to-life" propaganda and you end up with a state going backward instead of forward.
