'It's not a Christian thing to do': DeWine says in-person church services are a huge health risk
COLUMBUS, Ohio
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine called out churches who are still holding large services despite the stay at home order issued due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
While most churches have canceled in-person gatherings and switched to remote, online services, some have remained open.
When asked about churches that choose to remain open, DeWine said, "any pastor who brings people together in close proximity, a large group of people, is making a huge mistake.
"They're endangering themselves, their family, and total strangers," DeWine said.
DeWine said a new order will be issued Thursday on social distancing and Ohio's parks due to concerns about crowds.
He also said the new order will also refer to churches that continue to hold services.
