Supreme Court halts Baker County judge's ruling nullifying Gov. Brown's COVID-19 closures

Late Monday night, the Oregon Supreme Court hit the brakes on a Baker County judge's order that had invalidated Gov. Kate Brown's executive actions to slow the coronavirus pandemic.

Baker County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Shirtcliff had ruled earlier in the day that Brown's executive orders, which restricted public activities to reduce transmission of the virus, were "null and void."

But about eight hours later, the Supreme Court issued a stay, which means Shirtcliff's earlier order cannot go into effect until the higher court considers the issue.

"From the beginning of this crisis, I have worked within my authority, using science and data as my guide, heeding the advice of medical experts," Brown said in a statement. "This strategy has saved lives and protected Oregonians from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic."

2. That's good. There are some wing nuts over on the E side

Thatís where Bundy and company took over the wildlife preserve. My sister was living at John Day at the time and said many of the locals were on his side.

3. Not only is the Judge a rw ass, but he did not follow rule of law. He was assigning her order to

section that the law did not come from. So he was incorrect in the ruling along with being an ass. It was an easy fix for the state SC
