(excerpts of email from Steve Hughes, Oregon WFP) The Oregonian [1] and Willamette Week are reporting that the Oregon Department of Justice has launched an investigation into reports of ballot tampering at the Clackamas County elections office.

Willamette Week are reporting that the Oregon Department of Justice has launched an investigation into reports of ballot tampering at the Clackamas County elections office.

According to the Willamette Week, sources say that a Republican election official in the County Clerk's office has "filled in a straight Republican ticket on the ballots where preferences had been left blank by voters"[2]

Somehow, we have to stop letting criminals get so close to the engines of democracy. If it's reported to be happening in Clackamas county, you can bet it's been happening for a while in a few other places as well.
