A man accused of killing a woman during a carjacking early Thursday in Philadelphia was shot and killed by police.
The incident began around 4:15 a.m. when the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, stole a car from the 5400 block of Germantown Avenue and took off, NBC 10 of Philadelphia reports.
Authorities say got out of the car at Chelten Avenue and Green Street after getting a flat tire and tried to carjack a woman, fatally shooting her, according to reports.
Police arrived and chased him and say he opened fire on the officers, prompting the police to shoot back, Action News 6 ABC is reporting.
