Tonight on MSNBC, Matthews was interviewing Joe Sestak. Matthews asked Sestak if he will run for Governor of PA, considering that Corbett is so vulnerable. Sestak laughed and said that his daughter has been complaining that he has been interfering too much with her homework, and he thinks it is time he got a job.
Remember that Sestak came very close to defeating Toomey for Senate in a very Republican year.

(22,143 posts)As is Corbett. We deserved Sestak. I hope he does run. But PA almost always re-elects incumbent governors, no matter how bad.

I don't even know how he lost to Toomey, but I would love to see him in the governor's seat.

(4,218 posts)What a mess he would into, with education being annihilated, budgets being cut, the environment being given to industry's needs, and the list goes on. It will take a strong, smart person to bring us back.
York City Ed Assn notified their members on Fri that 30 more teachers would be furloughed. This is in addition to the previous 50.

Reading School District will consider budget cuts that could result in up to 170 teachers losing their jobs
Unbelievable.
Anyone have a running total of teaching jobs lost? I've lost track.

(28,394 posts)It's a tough road, though. After losing to Toomey, he might not be our strongest candidate to take on the evil governor gas-hole.

(12,321 posts)Joe barely lost to Toomey, by just under two percent (only 77,000 votes). Toomey was predicted to win by more than that, and 2010 was a huge Republican year in PA. Toomey had enormous financial backing, including the American Chamber of Commerce and The Heritage Foundation. Sestak fared pretty well against all of that.
Tom "Gashole" Corbett beat Onorato by about 8 points. That was when everyone thought he "seemed like such a nice guy." Well, the truth is out now. Everybody knows now that Corbett is as corrupt and inept as they come. There are even Republicans in PA who have huge buyers' remorse over Corbett.
We can only pray that our state survives until we can get this ALEC idiot out of office.
