PoliticsPA recap of the election results

A pretty good summary, with links, to the results of Tuesday's election.

Dems swept the mayoral races in the largest cities in the state, Allentown, Erie, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Scranton.
They also won county executive seats in Erie, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

There were many uncontested races, positions where no candidate officially filed and were won by write-ins and many where the candidates had cross-filed in the primary and appeared as both the D and the R candidate.

But, Beaver, the county seat and pretty solid R town, did have a contested mayoral election and Dem Lincoln Kretchmar ousted the incumbent R mayor by 13 votes. Dems also won 3 of 4 seats on Beaver borough council. It's the first time since 1912(!) a Dem has been elected mayor there. Probably didn't hurt that Kretchmar bakery in Beaver is a beloved business there.
