I saw a Peduto for mayor sign yesterday, just one, is he saving his money?

Peduto does have a GOP opponent, a Joshua Wander, who has appeared on national television:

OK, it is a Doomsday Prepper site, but it is National Geographic:

His 2003 web site to give back the Statute of Liberty to France:

What is wrong with the Republican party?? Running a Doomsday prepper who wants to move to Israel do to fears of terror attacks, is their candidate for Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh. The Mayor is a OPEN SEAT this year (the present mayor decided NOT to run) thus the best time to run someone who MAY win an election not some body who has no chance.

This is typical of the GOP in the City of Pittsburgh, running someone who has no chance of winning even if the Democrat turns out to be someone especially beatable. No wonder no GOP candidate has won an election since 1930 in the City of Pittsburgh.

The Burgh is one of the last strongholds of unions and historically Democrat. Peduto was only "especially beatable" by other Democrats; of them, only Wagner had any real chance, so since the primary he's been acknowledged as the next mayor by all but those in the deepest denial.

Josh Wander actually has been in Israel for some time. http://triblive.com/politics/politicalheadlines/4761985-74/wander-pittsburgh-campaign#axzz2jKoKDT5L

What's wrong with the Republican party is really too big a question, ha. I figure it's hard to get anyone good to spend all the money and go through all the stress when they have slim-to-no chance of winning. Don't run me out of DU, but I thought De Santis was kind of an OK guy for a Republican. Not a wingnut teabagger, more focused on fiscal problems.

Did you move here recently? I thought you were from the State College area. If so, welcome to Pittsburgh.
