uhm...Guv, you might want to buy a more reliable calculator. That would mean that every job created in PA. during your term was a fracking job. This chart says it all:

(4,033 posts)You go anywhere near these fracking areas, you will see License Plates from Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Louisiana, etc. Every time there is a work injury the injured is from out of state.
I have gone on the websites for these companies and they list no openings in Pennsylvania, which leads me to believe they are only doing "local" hiring in other states only.
I think that these companies don't want Pennsylvania employees for 2 reasons: #1 Pennsylvanians will demand more money and #2 these companies believe that Pennsylvania workers will unionize.

(18,219 posts)in my area. Apparently, they are importing from every other place that there is gas drilling and creating no jobs here for residents of PA. And you are probably right about the reasons, even if these reasons are unfounded---these jobs are not low paying and there are benefits available to employees, so they have nothing to worry about.
