(18,219 posts)In short, the difference between the Medicaid expansion plan approved and the Medicaid expansion plan the governor could have accepted and implemented on January 1, 2014, amounts to little more than wasted time and money, said Frankel, who introduced legislation (H.B. 897) back in March 2013 to expand Medicaid in Pennsylvania. All he has really done is delay the process and deny coverage to more than half a million Pennsylvanians for at least a year. His plan makes Medicaid expansion less effective in Pennsylvania than in many other states, reduces the impact of federal investments in Pennsylvanias economy, and adds another level of bureaucracy to the system. I dont know how that adds up to Medicaid reform.
