PA. Bar Association Evaluations of Candidates for PA. Supreme Court - 3 seats open this year

It is a critical year for statewide judge elections, particularly because 3 new Supreme Court judges will be elected.

Here are the PA. Bar Association evaluations of candidates for PA. Supreme Court, and the Statewide Commonwealth Court and Superior Courts (which are intermediate/appellate courts).

The three Dem. candidates for Supreme Court who are "highly recommended" are Wecht, Donahue and Lazarus.

There is one seat open on the Superior Court, and the only Dem. candidate who is highly recommended is Colville.

... because he is the only one for whom she's seen any advertisements. The power of the media! At least Mr Dougherty is "recommended" by the Bar Association "Based on his judicial and administrative experience and his work ethic, judicial temperament and integrity."

One Republican candidate, Covey, was specifically "not recommended" because she violated a pledge to not run negative ads in a previous campaign and was not completely truthful when questioned about the matter by the Bar Association.

The big difference is between highly recommended and recommended.

The candidates with the money for TV ads may be the ones who are tools of the groups with the most money.
