Related: About this forumLast week Pennsylvania Congressman Mike Kelly made a racist rant on a Texas radio station
I understand what she meant. Im really sick and tired of having to hold racist politicians accountable. But they keep saying racist things that make us take action to hold them accountable. Last week Pennsylvania Congressman Mike Kelly made a racist rant on a Texas radio station. Keystone Progress responded with a petition to Rep. Kelly asking him to apologize for his demeaning comments about black people.
The good news is that thousands of people have already written to Rep. Kelly to tell him that his views are an outrage to decent Pennsylvanians.
Unfortunately, a small number of people wrote to us to tell us that they agree with Kelly. And some of them didnt bother to use Kellys code language. They were much more explicit [all sic]. Here's a sample of their vitriolic responses:
John D wrote, how about if you apologize for rampaging criminal jiggaboos?
From David T. I don't care , beat those n****rs.
Mark P. I agree with Mr. Kelly. Dead Criminals like Freddy boy commit no new crimes.
Shitmonkeys like Freddy get what the deserve.
Dot B. The black communities are out of control when things like this happen. Instead of acting like human beings and going to city hall and PROTESTING, they are rioting and looting and destroying the lives of hard working other minorities in their city. You don't see white ppl rioting like that when a black cops kills a white person! And it's because we don't act like animals!
Gary A. F***ing you n****r crap.
Rep. Kelly's inflammatory language tells people like this that their racism is acceptable. If a Member of Congress can say these things, then why cant they?
We may get tired of holding people like Mike Kelly accountable, but we have to keep on. Fannie Lou Hamer may have been sick and tired of being sick and tired, but she never gave up. She fought for voting rights and more in the Jim Crow south despite being jailed, beaten, threatened with lynching.
We will continue the struggle to face the problems that face our country education equality, economic security for families, and an end to police brutality, but it starts with standing up to this old time bigotry.
Please take 2 minutes and sign our petition to Rep. Kelly.

I am shocked and saddened every time Kelly opens his mouth. Hateful man. I signed the petition, but I have no hopes of him listening to us. He has never had a good thing to say about anything that I have been critical about in the past, and he seems to think that his opinions are the only thing that matter. He humiliates me.
