(15,265 posts)In today's paper there's just a big "comparison" of Clinton and Trump with a check mark on the picture of the candidate the editorial board thinks is better. It turns out there are 6 checks for Hillary and 6 checks for Trump. They end with something along the lines of these two candidates are just so bad, you have to decide for yourself.
It is really a sad day for the Post-Gazette editorial page. I know the Block scion currently running both the Blade and the PG is a right wing wacko. The PG ran an op-ed from the Blade's editorial page editor and it was full on wingnuttery. I'm not really surprised because Shribman is a big Republican. I'll add he's likely a closet misogynist, too, given all the editorials about Kathleen Kane but barely a peep about the ugliness she uncovered in the Atty Gen's office and in other law enforcement circles.

(5 posts)Some of the worst parts of an unbelievable editorial calling it a tie:
"Ms. Clinton is essentially an abortion-on-demand person. Mr. Trump seems genuinely appalled by partial-birth abortion."
Comments noted that "partial-birth abortion" is a code phrase not a medical procedure.
"Mr. Trumps political and intellectual independence gives him the freedom to question assumptions and to sunset some of Washingtons corrupt folk ways as well as some of its outdated laws."
Does this make any sense whatsoever?
"...she would escalate the Cold War with Russia, which could turn into a hot war. Mr. Trump wants to try detente with Putin."
They call Trump "naive" about Putin, but show no evidence of being up to date on anything in regard to Trump and Russia.
They close by saying Clinton will begin "under criminal investigation" and will likely be impeached.
Beyond unbelievable into horrifying.

wisteria
(19,581 posts)They try way to hard to be politically correct, fair and balanced, and pompous. They are more concerned about staying afloat than doing what is in the best interest of the country. I stoped receiving their paper and reading them years ago. Chicken shits.
Even the Philadelphia Inquire- a Republican Owned paper endorsed Clinton.
