Rothfus:
the Democrats have no solutions to the problem
(the AHCA) is a solution that addresses both coverage for those with pre-existing conditions and affordability for everyone, with states having an opportunity to move away from Washington mandates and towards flexibility and choice.
Murphy:
This marks the beginning of a desperately needed restructuring process of Americas health care system. We have a lot more work to do. I remain committed to protecting the most seriously ill, including those who suffer from mental illness and addiction disorders.
Shuster:
Today, Congress, with the help of President Trump, took the first step in providing relief to the American people from the failing law that is Obamacare
Our healthcare system doesnt have to be a one-size-fits-all mandate coming from Washington that forces people to pay for plans they dont want and shackles businesses with crippling costs.
Democrats react.
Sen Casey:
House Republicans delivered an economic punch to the gut of middle-class families in Pennsylvania
President Trump promised not to touch Medicaid or Medicare and has betrayed those promises by supporting this bill. Instead of going along with far right congressional Republicans, President Trump should have worked in a bipartisan way to make health care more affordable for middle class families.
Gov Wolf:
a sad day for millions of Pennsylvania families who now continue to worry about their access to health care
(The AHCA is a) shallow and shameful attempt to score political points at the expense of the sick, poor, elderly and disabled
We can only hope that the United State Senate cares more about the people they were elected to serve.

PA Rs on Trumpcare vote (Original Post)

OP
enough
(13,255 posts)1. Two R Reps from my area in PA voted NO. Costello and Meehan. Not because
they're good people, but because they know it would have cost them their seats.

(1,560 posts)5. Ditto for mine - Charlie Dent
The media always calls him "moderate", but he's not.
He's no moderate but his district is purple so he looks for as much cover as he can on controversial votes.

(28,394 posts)2. And these heartless monsters get reelected over and over.
The repubs are always for "term limits" unless it means them!

(5,829 posts)3. If Murphy quoted is one from Western PA, he's changed
his opinion on definition of heath care. He'd have voted against last version, and this one's worse.

(15,265 posts)4. Yep, it's Tim Murphy
Rep from PA-18.

(5,829 posts)7. So I vote against him yet again...
