"Gerrymandering and Pennsylvania's democratic deficit"

"It’s one more measure of how desperate the legislature is to avoid reforms aimed at better politics and democracy in order to protect its privileged, over-paid, over-perked, under-performing self.

Tuesday’s call by voters’ rights group Fair Districts PA seeking at least a hearing on efforts to reform Pennsylvania’s nationally vilified gerrymandering is almost certain to be ignored."

It is literally vomit inducing that these "representatives" (who do not represent) and are the overwhelming majority in the pa legislature (GOP) lecture the world on the benefit of free market competition yet actually use their power to stifle electoral competition.

Of supporting fair democratic districts. The Pa media doesn't ask a damn question to these reps ( with occasional acts of courage notwithstanding) as to what their position is on this bill.

The local news outlets never let a real legislative problem stand in the way of kissing reps rear ends.

regarding getting any of them to commit on the record. This was a factor in 45's win of the Electoral College (not popular vote). The media doesn't hold them accountable or ask the right questions let alone report it.

Whenever a member of Congress (both Dem and Repub) is asked about 45's instability and mental capacity they skirt around the issue and the media doesn't press them enough.

Believe me, the PA reps/senators do see these letters. So do at least some of the news reporters.

This is an awesome website about FAIR, a public interest group that's spearheading the anti-gerrymandering movement in Pennsylvania.

Link: https://www.fairdistrictspa.com/

You can join FAIR (free membership) for more info, or to become a volunteer, or to make a donation. Even if you don't want to join, this website is an awesome source of info. It's mainly of interest to Pennsylvanians, but not connected to either political party.
