Did ya' vote yet?

Cold and rainy in western PA. I forgot to ask which number I was, but I was one of two voters this morning! The only campaign workers outside with cards and signs were the DEMOCRATS!! One fellow was escorting people to and from their cars with his umbrella. Can't imagine a republican doing that! Ha!

voted yet, but we’ve had 40 people as of noon. It’s about 25% of our total registered voters.

Cold/clammy day here in Upper Bucks. Most important thing here is a school board race. Trying to get some new blood on the board.

They are under attack by a bunch of repuke tax-cutters. Since they cross-file, it's hard to tell which party they are, but their platform was very conservative.

Replace a couple tax-cutters that have been on the board forever with some candidates that promise to make the kids #1. The present board made some very unpopular decisions recently (closing schools) and I'm hopeful they'll be gone soon.

Two out of 3 did anyhow. They are young guys, probably trumpsters, who likely don't have a clue about the complexity of running a school district. Oh well. C'est la vie!

Good news here, our good candidates won! The old board closed a beloved middle school (there were other options) I'm not surprised they're gone.

Cool and cloudy in the Nazareth, PA. I voted straight Democratic, to retain Justice Debra Todd, and no on the ballot mesaure allowing the legislature to allow a 100% property tax exemption for homeowners.

I voted no on the homeowner property tax exemption because the tax burden would shift to renters in the form of higher rents; businesses, in the form of higher property taxes, and consumers, in the form of higher prices. I guess the repukes in the state legislature didn't realize the unintended (or perhaps intended) consequences of this disaster waiting to happen.

#46. Results for the April 2016 primary showed 1674 total voters (D/R/I, 670/825/179) and turnout was 47%. The last municipal/judicial election in Nov 2015, turnout was 41%. Turnout today around 8 was roughly 2%. It's not raining, but damp, overcast and temps in the 30s.

My Beaver County precinct is heavily Republican and usually has pretty good turnout. We have a contested school board election. A know-it-all husband and wife team decided the wife should run a write-in campaign in the primary and she won. There's a write-in campaign to keep her from winning a seat, although I have to admit school board meetings would be must-see-tv quality affairs if she wins.

I voted for all Dems, NO on retaining Saylor and NO on the ballot question.

I stopped by the poll about 5:30 to ask if an absentee ballot had been received and took a quick glance at the voter book of all who'd voted and noted about 482 (of 1674). Assuming the avg votes/hr stays relatively the same, turnout would be around 35-36%, down about 5 pts from 2015 and 10 pts down from the April 2016 primary.

Voted the straight Democratic ticket. Don't know if it's going to help because the Republican candidates are really popular here. (Bridgeport,PA.Montgomery County). The repubs have lived here a while & are really friendly & well known by the locals. Hell,I've tossed back a few beers with them and they are nice folks & not fascists. They do think Trump is a disgrace & don't embrace general Republican crap. Most locals here know and love them. They are kinda sneaky though! The woman running for Borough Council Ward 1 ran as a Democrat in the primary. The Democratic candidate for Mayor is Black. Bridgeport isn't overtly racist but it is pretty much White middle class/blue collar. I also think he's someone who moved here and not born & bred here. Most folks here are loyal to the locals. Bridgeport is also right next to Norristown,PA which has a lot of Mexicans,Blacks & bad crime.
Turnout seemed low. The Repubs have been in power awhile here.

Was kind of shocked Ed Pawlowski won in Allentown, all things considered. But the choices were all terrible, IMO.
