A Republican in South Carolinas most competitive U.S. House race is releasing her first television ad of the 2020 congressional campaign, casting herself as Democrat Joe Cunninghams rightful challenger some seven months out from the GOP primary.
In a sign that Kathy Landing is seeking to introduce herself to as many voters as possible, the 30-second spot will air Saturday during the states biggest college football game of the year: the South Carolina-Clemson game.
The 30-second ad buy cost $4,500 on ESPN, according to filings with the Federal Communications Commission.
Called Real Quid Pro Quo, the commercial focuses on Cunninghams recent vote for the House impeachment inquiry.

(25,406 posts)gives me Charleston TV stations for ABC, NBC and CBS, and I've seen a lot of anti-Cunningham ads lately. Joe only won the district by about 4,000 votes, and he was running against a Tea Partier who successfully primaried Mark Sanford, of Appalachian Trail fame. Sanford refused to endorse the woman who ousted him, and that may have cost her the election.
I've seen that Cunningham was resistant to impeachment efforts earlier in the year, looks like he's decided to bet on the other horse. I've been much more in favor of using the election to dislodge the Orange Anus from the White House, because I fear that we'll lose a lot of 2018 red-to-blue flips as a result. This story just confirms my suspicions on how this impeachment business will turn out.
